Ferrari might just be finding out that it is not a great idea to let Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen spend too much time together. Contrary to their expectations that Michael will have a sobering effect on the flying Finn, it turns out that Kimi has been inspiring Michael to get plastered to the gills.

drunkmichael.jpgPhotographs of a very inebriated Schumacher were published in German tabloids, shortly after the reports from Italy yesterday regarding his new mentorship position. Luca Di Montezemolo, FIAT President, is reported to be very displeased with the situation (especially as it is rumored that he rang up Michael when he was completely blotto, and Michael claimed to be counting purple elephants flying across the sky). An insider reveals that Luca has threatened to fire Michael’s spokeswoman – his usual practice when he is a little upset with Michael – but it remains to be seen if it is legally possible considering Michael is no longer a Ferrari pilot.

Jean Todt has attempted to play down the rumors, suggesting that there is nothing wrong in having a ‘little’ fun as long as it is done discreetly – which is rapidly threatening to become the Ferrari mantra. Michael is still suffering from a terrible hangover and could not be reached for comment.
